Maternity Photography

You only get one chance to capture this moment in time...

Time passes quickly and it’s easy to forget to pause and take in the wonders of life. There’s something so special about the period leading up to the birth of your child – and photographs that capture your emotions during this time will preserve the memory forever. The beautiful form of an expectant mother; her anticipation and feelings as she gazes at the marvel of her body. You will be able to look back in years to come and remember how you felt, how you looked and your thoughts as you embarked on this new journey.

Taking portraits is an honour and I consider it my greatest achievement when I’m told that a photograph has truly captured someone’s character. I’m inspired by making people feel and look wonderful; I take the time to understand what is important to you so that I can capture timeless photographs that beautifully and naturally reflect who you are.

My photography has been featured in a variety of international publications such as Marie Claire, Travel + Leisure Magazine and I was Finalist for Travel Photographer of the Year.

I am a member of the Society for Wedding and Portrait Photographers as well as the Newborn Art Academy. I also run all the photography courses for the Landmark Arts Centre in Teddington.

Please do give me a call or request a callback to find out more – I’d love to hear from you.

FAQs

What is the ideal time for a maternity shoot?

Ideally around 30-36 weeks when you have a wonderful round bump but still feel comfortable with the poses and positions in the shoot.

Where is your studio?

My home studio is in Teddington, between Twickenham and Kingston-upon-Thames. It is conveniently located for public transport and there is parking directly outside.

How long does it last?

Allow up to 2 hours for your session. This will give us time to capture the photos you really want and try some things you may not have considered.

How do I book?

Just call me directly to discuss and book your session; or alternatively, you can send me an enquiry form with your due date and I’ll come straight back to you. We’ll arrange a pre-session consultation so we can discuss what you are looking for, your artistic preferences and what works best for you.

What should I wear and bring?

Come to the shoot in loose- fitting clothing to avoid lines and marks on the skin.

Feel free to bring along any of your favourite outfits and remember the photographs are a celebration of you – so simple, plain colours are best.

Accessories such as watches and jewellery can distract and may be best avoided.

We can discuss possibilities and combinations when you call, and work out what options and alternatives work best.

How much does it cost / What can I buy at the ordering session?

I offer a range of prices and packages and would be delighted to discuss what you’re looking for and provide details. Please get in touch anytime for more information.

Your photographs will be available in all formats, from archival quality prints to canvases, frames, photo books and also digital copies, so you can buy whatever you would treasure most.

My aim is to offer a range of artwork with the highest standards of image quality and character; from single photographic archival quality prints starting at £49, to large Framed Artworks costing up to £800 – and everything in between. I offer Fine Art Canvases, Framed and Unframed Art, luxury Heirloom Albums of various sizes, as well as collections of fully retouched images on USB with copyright permission for printing – perfect for creating gifts for friends and family.

I also offer special packages on the day of the viewing and am always happy to explore ways to provide your ideal combination.

Can I include family members?

Absolutely – this is a special time for all of you and I always love to include both parents and any other children you have.

When will we see the images?

We’ll schedule a date for you to see the portraits about one week after the session. I’ll show you a gallery of approximately 24 beautiful images and that’s when you’ll choose and order your photographs.
